Bible Study: The Human Heart - Broken Spirit

Dear Youth in Christ,

We visited the topic of humanity and its flaws. One of those flaws matters our spirit. It is come to a point where we would be broken as some people would have 'stomped' on you and made you feel very small. Rest assured that we have a God that looks out for us. In times of these, we are reminded to think clearly and draw back to the lessons that your elders have taught you (the type where.. my parents used to tell me.. this and that).

Lesson goes in three segments.

1) What is a broken spirit means to you?

2) What are the causes of broken spirit?

3) How do we deal with it?

I trust that you had a fun time learning valuable lessons from Solomon in his book of Proverbs.

It is also great to see the new committee members rising up to the challenge for next year.

Next week, we have Dteam @ Home (Bible Study). Stay tuned to be contacted by your Dteam Leaders to organise this session.

Journey through the Book of Acts: Humility

Dear Youth in Christ,

Apologies to all who have been following the blog. This week had been a hectic week for one and all especially for me. Just finished half of a unit through a quiz and an assessment. Next week will be even more hectic but I guess that everybody would be in the same boat.

To recap on what we have learnt last Friday, we went through the lesson of Humility. Questions we need to ask ourselves. What is humility and why should we even care about humility? Humility is similar to the meaning of humble. Serving the church dotes on this aspect of humility. All the things that we do for Christ, we do it for Him.

Dust we were and dust we were be. For those who are serving the church in one way or another, know who we are doing it for. It is through our service that we begin to know how unique we are.

I shall catch you all for Missions Night tomorrow.

Dteam @ Home Fun event

All the groups had their own plans for today, to let their 'hair' down and see their respective members enjoying themselves. Activities range from Ice Skating, Movie, Badminton to plain eating and talking over bubble tea.

Words of Wisdom

Hi guys :) Hope that you're all having an awesome weekend out there :D

And also hope that you enjoyed the 'words of wisdom' activity last night :) Carrying home the lesson of FORGIVENESS, TRUST, GOSSIP, TEMPTATION, GOD'S LOVE, and PRAY.

They are really good lessons that should be embedded into your daily lives for an all so closer walk with God. Do remember your little person that has all the bible verses on it :) It'll be a good reminder if you keep it somewhere visible at all times =]

Hope that you all learned something new, or that it reminded you of something that hasn't flashed through your mind for a while.

Journey through the Book of Acts: Mission/Servitude

Dear Youth in Christ,

I trust that you had an AWESOME PAWSOME time at the fun Dteam at one of your Dteam members' house. I heard some had KFC for dinner before going through Bible Study. We would be having these Dteam meetings very regularly. Enjoy them while they last.

For that Friday (if you all still remember), we went through the second topic of the Book of Acts. In that topic, we focus on 3 characters and find out what was the problem of the church back then. The church has grown to a size that the 12 disciples are unable to concentrate on spreading the word. Thus, they selected 7 reputable people to take care of the administrative matters. Even for an organisation, there is a need to share the load to increase overall productivity.

As for the characters, there was Stephen, Simon the Sorcerer and Saul (who was named Paul later in the book). We can learn lessons from Stephen on what it means to remain steadfast for the Lord till the end, the mistakes of taking the baptism of Christ not seriously as was in Simon's case and God able to use anybody such as the destroyer of the church, Saul for the furthering of His Kingdom.

I trust that the lessons you learn from these characters will make you think about your walk in God and your involvement in His Kingdom. We ended the study that serving in the ministry is an evidence of a mature Christian which requires time, patience, trust and submission to God. Serving in Christian ministry is often difficult but the rewards are bountiful.

"Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few" (Matthew 9:37)

Journey through the Book of Acts: Fellowship

Dear Youth in Christ,

As you may recall, we are doing a topical study of the book of Acts as our bible study material. To start it off, we have covered the topic of Fellowship. The scripture reference is taken from Acts 2:40-47 and Hebrews 10:24,25.

In this passage, we witness the power of the Holy Spirit descent onto the apostles while they were waiting on the command Jesus gave before he ascended to heaven.

"Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptised with water, but in a few days you will be baptised with the Holy Spirit."

This coming of the Holy Spirit signified the beginning of the church.

We have gone through some questions, discussing on what makes Christian fellowship distinct, what did they do and how it is applicable to the modern day church. We have gotten some interesting answers and the leaders thank you for your contribution in making the Bible Study fun and interesting.

Continue to realise the importance of fellowship as it is a core ingredient to nurture proper Christian growth. Without this proper nurturing would lead to the Christian remain immature. Not only that, fellowship is also an act of worship to God. You all might remember the passage, "when two or more are gathered in my name, I will be in their midst." as a promise of God's presence within our gatherings. All of us must continue to strive to understand how we live our lives and how we can understand our faith in order to be mature for God.

I pray that you had a fruitful session during the Bible Study. I had a fruitful session leading my care group in the study.

From I saw from the back at the AV station, you all seem to be having quite a bit of fun. Lets see.. what were the highlights...

Tim's Testimonial that started with "Hi Tim" but in the end, he has made one important point. You come together with other people and get to know each other in a more personal way. This is in contrast to a Pub where you have loud music, drinking and occasional brawls (which can be deadly if you aren't careful).

However, I am so glad that you all have enjoyed the welcoming night and it shall be a start to an awesome year ahead. Be sure to join us next week for some Bible Study through a topical study on Acts PLUS seeing your friends again. How cool can that be! :D

Who are we?

- Immanuel Methodist Youth Fellowship is a youth group that exists to bring in, build up and send out disciples for Jesus Christ. IMYF (in short), is a big family for many youths to come and gather to have fellowship together and also learn more about God.

Define "Youth"...

- We have members of diverse ages... high schoolers, uni students, even young profesisonals. Programs are specially tailored to meet members' needs a much as possible.

Where and when?

- We usually meet at 7.30p.m. on Fridays at Immanuel Methodist Church (33 Cloister Avenue, Manning, WA 6152, Australia). But do check back often for announcements as we might have youth events out of the church from time to time.

Dear Youth,

We are now approaching the last few hours before the start of the new year. Many will ask, what happened over the year as they start to take stock for the year. As you screen through the major events that has happened over the year, your head starts to swell and you start to get a headache. If I were to ask to summarise your year of 2010 into 6 words, what would it be?

Do take the time to figure out those words. Give thanks to God for the things He gave and taken away. Let the old year pass and declare that the year 2011 will also be the year of the Lord.

Pressing onto the end of the Year, gearing up for next year

Dear Youth in Christ,

We have now come to the last month of the year 2010. All examination period should have finished and now awaiting for the results. For the year 12 and Foundation students, wish you all the best and look forward to see each and everyone of you to get into the course that you desire. For the university students, wish you all the best as well and move on to the next stage of the degree programme.

All of you should have received a copy of the Daily Bread for the months of December, January and February. They contain devotional material that would give you small steps to something greater in your walk with God.

IMYF will start again in February to usher in the new Canning College students. Stay tuned for more updates along the months.

A word of encouragement to all

Dear Youth in Christ,

It has been a while since the blog has been updated and I apologise for the late update. However, for all of the students, it is the most stressful time within the year. However, once exams start, time passes fairly quickly. You become so much more productive than you were during semester period and sometimes you just wonder, why dun I do that eariler.

Within all that anxiety, you sometimes wonder whether there is hope for you to get through the subject. Rejoice, my brothers and sisters that we worship the one true thing of Hope and that is embodied into Jesus Christ. There is hope is this and it is according to His will that we must go through these periods.

As you step into the exam hall, give thanks to God for allowing you to take the exam. A heart and mind of peace does wonders during exam period. Your hand would not stop writing and everything flows naturally. Pray for peace within you as you do the paper. Your mind is designed to remember things but God provides a way for you to use that information.

Hope that these words would encourage you. All the best my brothers and sisters in Christ as you journey through the end of the year. For those you have finished, rest well and use your time wisely.

Do you know your Faith and Bible well enough?

Hey there Youth,

Have you met up with the Jehovah Witnesses before? I had and had this lengthy discussion with them. The only thing I admire about them is that they really know their stuff and are very strong in their belief. This actually puts us Christians to shame for not preaching the Word with a passion. However, should you all encounter one, I urge all of you to be strong in your faith and know your scripture that you would be grounded in the Word of God.

Fundamentally, Jehovah Witnesses have several doctrines that contradict our faith. One of it being that they do not acknowledge that Jesus is the Son of God/ Son of Man and is equal to and is God the Father and God the Holy Spirit.

This was the most difficult discussion and how they make you go round in circles and get you confused with your faith. My friends and I can only thank God that Disciple training has helped us in knowing the Word and its cultural context. We now know that we, as your bible study leaders have limited knowledge and need to learn and study His Word.

I urge my dear brothers and sisters in Christ to take every lesson learnt in these sessions seriously. The daily bread has been given to you as a tool to help you progress in your walk with God. I pray that this experience is something for all of us to learn. Do not give up on wanting to learn God's Word as when you seek Him, He will find you and answer you.

Word of Caution: Do not sign anything relating to any Bible Study Discussion when you are given a book which states the accuracy of the Bible. If you are in doubt, just say no to them first.

I hear lots of stories between each member from their respective dteams and the long and short of it, the last session was AWESOME!!!. Laser Tag game session between Team EdJonPoh, OllieMel and AhJohnChengLoong, lots of screams and healthy competition. And with the other Dteams, they were at Freo with a gastronomical exercise. Other than that, I believe that all have enjoyed themselves before breaking of for the exams.

Hi Youth,

Pray that you have learnt a great number of lessons found in Mark 9. Each event that happened to the disciples is all the continuation of knowing the character of Jesus. Whenever we go through the next chapter, do not forget what you have learnt in the previous chapters. The story continues to flow as the disciples' questions of who Jesus really is are being answered one at a time. Christ reveals himself bit by bit.

Hence, this would give us the verse, Seek and you shall find and everything shall be added onto you. The bible study notes are now on the blog. Grab it from there. :D

Hey Youth,

Hope you all had a great time fellowshipping with your various Dteam members on that Friday. A time of food, games and some spiritual nourishment for the soul. We continued our journey of Mark into Mark 8, looking at the Feeding of the 4000, Yeast of the Pharisees and the bombshell that Jesus made towards His disciples that He must be killed to fulfill His ministry. *dramatic music*

Questions that we should ask ourselves. Do we sometimes play God when we try to engineer our way to domination? Is there space for God within our own lives? His ways are higher than our ways. I pray that each of you have learnt a particular lesson.

1st October 2010: Combined Youth Meeting with the various Methodist churchs

Dear Youth,

I trust that you have an awesome time with our peers from the other churches. It was great to know them and hopefully that all can reach an understanding that they are family as well.

What is Worship to us? Worship means by lying prostrate in adoration and respect to authority. If our lives are meant to worship God, surely we should live it for Him everyday.

We had an awesome night last night to show our appreciation to our sisters'-in-Christ. Great to see everybody taking up the effort to dress up as different characters and showing the wild side of each other.

17th September 2010: Bible Study Mark 7

It has been a while since the blog due to the assignment peak from the university students and the preparation for final year exams for the year 12s. Continue to keep everybody in prayer before mid semester break/ term break kicks in for all.

This bible study, we have gone through Mark 7 and hope that each have learnt valuable lessons for it such as: the meaning of inner purity and see an inclination on how Jesus's ministry expands towards the Gentiles.

Hope you all have a fun time in Dteams yesterday. Heard that that year 12 group went to Freo to have Fish and Chips before coming to Utopia at Myree for some bubble tea. Epic fun just spending time with your Dteams.

I hope each of you have received a copy of the Daily Bread to aid you in your spiritual walk. If not, contact your respective Dteam leaders for a copy. Use the book well and we pray that all of you will get close with the Lord and experience the life that Christ can only offer.

Kenny Gan is a full-time missionary who has worked on the Dulos for 17 years. He is now the director for Operation Mobilisation and is based in London. At the Youth Meeting, he shared a powerful message on what it means to have a close walk with God. To have such a close connection with the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords is the powerful experience that every Christian should have. In order to have that connection, there is much emphasis on the amount of time spent with God.

Even with our busy lives in university/college/high school, do not leave God out of the picture. For whatever you spend time with Him, God will honor you in return.

Hey all,

Just gonna take over from Ollie for this one post. Hope you peeps don't mind too much :)

I think I'll just share what I learnt from the night.

I learnt that there are people out there who are broken and searching for something to fill a hole in their lives. For Ronit, she took drugs to fill that hole; and then she met Tom.

I learnt that when we are filled with the Holy Spirit, people should be able to see the joy and peace that we gain from becoming children of God. Ronit saw that in Tom and wondered what 'drugs' he was taking. Tom showed her Jesus Christ, and from then on, her life was never the same. Now she has that joy and peace; and together with Tom, they continue to share that joy and peace to others.

Points to ponder: Are we displaying the joy and peace that has been given to us so that others can see? Do we make others wonder where we get this joy and peace? When people ask us, will we take the opportunity to share the love of God to them?

Yesterday was our quiz night in IMCYF, prepared by Team Kimivantim. Singspiration was good with the electric guitar on by looney along with the team =]

Sushi(s) are tasty and should have won first place!! But kudos to Edward, they deserved first place in the handshake ice-breaker / quiz starter for the price he paid xD

Interesting fact: IMC is near UWA is near Greg's house is near Mcdonald! So near that we could barely tell the exact coordinates of them :P

Hello guys, Ollie here to summarize our youth again! Hopefully there's still someone out there reading out blog, so do give us an indication (shout-out or comment) if you're still reading (:

Wonders if it's been a long week for everyone, high school students, murdoch and curtin students and working people make us envious, us as in UWA ppl. Boo for no holiday for us, but still glad to see everyone around on Friday =]

Kudos to Andrew's Dteam for setting up the whole night for our youth. Singspiration was great with seeing new people on stage singing, and a lovely ice-breaker from our ever so adorable Wen!

Then a big thank you to everyone for participating in discussions and sharings around. Definitely heard a lot of laughter around (well, mostly from my team lah x)

And thank you soooooooooooooooooooo much for sooooooooooooo much good food that night from Subway, think from what i heard it was from Hubert!! So thankius again (:

Hope that everyone will remember what we all learnt in Mark 3, and further questions are more than welcome and directed to your Dteam leaders =]

Pardon the lameness, but yes, it was Personality Plus at IMCYF on friday night! Good way for a lot of people to find friends, or find people that are just totally opposites from you xD

Team Melollie was in charge of the nights, and thank you to all their team members for taking such an effort in preparing the whole night.

Oh ya, we found Alvin no.2 (personal pov) in youth as well! Thanks for the blowwwwwwwwww wind blow Tim! Got everyone exercising well, and we got to see how competitive, how self-admitting lengzai people are xDxD

Then came our introduction to the night by Rick, with reference to sitcoms. and how everyone has different personalities.

Everyone was handed a paper with 40 mcqs after that, which stirred an outburst of "huhhhhh, soooooooooooooooooooo long x.x", but still non-the less everyone finished it!

Sanguines were supposedly the first to finish them, then the rest. The questions all got people asking "wow, what are you, what are you?????" Some are quite expected, while some are just eye-openning!

Everyone was grouped according to their major personality after that, and it was good to meet people like you. The funny, living Sanguine, the Perfect-genius Melancholy, the Powerful-leader Choleric, and the cool-listening Phlegmatic.

There was then a lot of sharing around with strengths and weakness of the personalities, and then after that how we can use them to serve in IMCYF. Richard then concluded the night with Pastor closing us in prayer.

No, no, no, no, no, no! It wasn't the end!

Who can forget refreshments! Fun-time for people to continue sharing and having fellowship around x) Then, another awesome night of fellowship ended again (:

The true story of a group of Christian missionaries in Ecuador who set out to reach the Wadani tribe (a violent Ecuadorian tribe defined by revenge killing). When the 5 men from this group are speared to death by Mincayani and others in the tribe (who believe all foreigners are cannibals), the wives and children of those men move into the Wadani tribe to teach them about God. End of the Spear is an amazing story of Truth, Love, and Forgiveness.

I believe words alone are too negligible to explain what we encountered in the movie. The Truth, Love and Forgiveness shown in the movie, which was extracted from a real life, was shown in it's purest forms.

Below are the notes and summaries of the bible study material from Dteam.

Mark

- Chapter 1

Know the author

Author of the book is John Mark. He was not one of the 12 disciples, but he accompanied Paul on his first missionary journey (Acts 13:13). Paul and Barnabas took Mark as their assistant on their first missionary journey. At their second stop, Mark left them and returned to Jerusalem. It was a decision Paul did not easily accept. In preparing for their second journey two years later, Barnabas again suggested Mark as a travelling companion, but Paul flatly refused. As a result, the team was divided. Barnabas took Mark with him, and Paul chose Silas. Barnabas was patient with Mark and the young man repaid his investment. Paul and Mark were later reunited and the older apostle became a close friend of the young disciple. John Mark made a mistake and he was quick to learn from it. He just needed some time and encouragement. Barnabas gave him these things despite Mark’s failure. Is there a Barnabas in your life?

Why was the gospel of Mark written?

This is the message of Mark. It is the shortest of the four Gospels, opens with Jesus’ baptism and temptation. Moving right into action, Mark quickly prepares us for Christ’s ministry. Written to encourage Roman Christians and to prove beyond a doubt that Jesus is the Messiah, Mark presents a rapid succession of vivid pictures of Jesus in action – his true identity revealed by what he does, not necessarily by what he says. It is Jesus on the move. This was written about A.D. 55 and 65.

Key points:

1. “Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.”

1:3 – In this verse, John calls on us to give up our selfish way of living, renounce our sins and seek God’s forgiveness so that Christ can come into our lives. We can “prepare the way” for people by explaining their need for forgiveness, demonstrating Christ’s teaching by our conduct, and telling them how Christ can give their lives meaning. As John prepared the way for Christ’s first coming, we can prepare the way for Christ’s second coming. We can “make paths straight” for people by evangelising, showing love, correcting misconceptions that might be hindering people from approaching Christ. Most importantly, we need to make sure that our own paths are straight. We need to turn away from the world’s sins, temptations and harmful attitudes and turn to God. He can give you a new start.

What can we do to prepare the way for our friends? Family? Are we doing it?

Is change needed in our lives before we can hear and understand Jesus’ message?

2. The lesson in humility

1: 7-8 – John the Baptist was a famous man. He had the whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem come to him to confess their sins and to be baptised. Despite all this, John still pointed out how insignificant he was compared to the one who was coming. John was not even worthy of doing the most menial tasks for Him, like untying his sandles. What a great lesson in humility.

Some of us are in positions of leadership where people look up to us. Can we demonstrate humility in our lives?

We may be like John, who possess certain talents or abilities not many other people have. Is it hard to admit that all of that comes from God? Do we give God enough credit for the success in our lives?

3. Have Faith

1:16-20 – We often assume that Jesus’ disciples were great men of faith from the first time they met Jesus. But they had to grow in their faith just as all believers do (14:48-50, 66-72; John 14:1-9; 20:26-29). This is apparently not the only time Jesus called Peter (Simon), James, and John to follow him (see Luke 5:1-11 and John 1:35-42 for two other times). Although it took time for Jesus’ call and his message to get through, the disciples followed. In the same way, we may question and falter, but we must never stop following Jesus. Another point to this is that everyone has their own choice whether to follow Jesus or not. To follow Jesus you must be prepared to make sacrifices. In the case of Simon and James, they gave up EVERYTHING.

It may not be possible or easy for us to make such sacrifices in today’s world but are we prepared to sacrifices abit of time? Money? Service?

4. The power of Christ

1:21-31 – In these verses, the power and authority of Jesus was demonstrated numerous times in driving out demons, teaching with authority in the synagogues and healing the sick. Jesus’didn’t need an elaborate exorcism ritual to drive the demons out or heal the sick girl, all Jesus did was say a word to drive the demons out and his touch was enough to heal the sick girl.

Today, such public demonstrations of power from God may be rare and far between or even non-existent. However, do you recognise God’s power at work in your life? Any examples you want to share?

5. The importance of solitude, quiet time, and prayer.

1:35-39 – How would we react if we saw Jesus spending so much time in prayer alone when there is still so much ministry and things to accomplish? It is easy to be so caught up in our busy lives or even ministry that we neglect times of solitude, individual worship, and prayer. Perhaps we need to make time for God.

How is your personal walk with God? Do you realise how important prayer is?

How is your prayer life? Do you need to make more time for prayer? Start with simple things like giving thanks for a meal.

6. Why didn’t Jesus want the demons or the leper to keep silent?

(1) By commanding the demons to remain silent, Jesus proved his authority and power over them.

(2) Jesus wanted people to believe he was the Messiah because of what he said and did, not because of demon’s words.

(3) Jesus wanted to reveal his identity as the Messiah according to hsi timetable, not according to Satan’s timetable. Satan wanted people to follow Jesus around for what they could get out of him, not because he was the Son of God who could truly set them free from sin’s guilt and power.

(4) Jesus demonstrates humility and does not seek fame.

Hi guys (: Welcome back!

First of all, super Thank God that Looney, Liz and Colin were able to make it to you that night!

As usual, it was great to see everyone once again on a Friday night, coming for fellowship and tons of time to learn. This week was special too cause it's sorta like the first time the Dteams actually gathered and met. Heaps of "you're in my room meh????" and "Wah, you again!" around, but thankfully for the "Yeah, so happy to have you in my group :D*

After meeting up with the Dteams, it's creativity time where everyone had to think of phrases of adoration to our God.

This was what all the teams came up with, superb answers and fabulous drawings / design. However, Joy took the lead and Esther's group won in the end :P

Later on, we were taken through a series of slides from Richard about worship, in why/how/who/what is worship all about. It Seems that everyone took a little something back that night. Hopefully everyone keeps that in mind and live it out as well =]

IMCYF Outing 2010

Welcome back to the blog after a long tiring day with us at Millpoint guys (: Super kudos if you went and saw this, probably meant that you like us a lot :P

Going for an outing is one of the big things that our youth does every year, which is a time for all of us to go out and have fun, fellowship and much food together!

We had singspiration at start lead by Albert, and everyone was surrounding him while he has to keep turning around to make sure everyone could hear him and the guitar together.

One awesome part of the day was seeing new faces lead games today, which was Brenda (the not-so) and Timmy (the awesome) getting us mingled with our team mates, trying to know our dates of birth, height, and our ability to use our body to make weird postures that try to resemble letters.

Later on, everyone was worn off trying to run on top of each other, run, hop and walk backwards to destinations decided. Much fun much fun sweating and smiling and trying to win!!

Big big thank you to aunty, uncles, brothers and sisters for preparing the food and drinks for all of us (: Which tied a perfect ending for all of us to have food, and get around to know each other much much more!

IMCYF Welcoming Night

Hi guys!! A big big welcome again if you’re here after coming to youth :P

Today’s our supah welcoming event every year to welcome many many new people and oldies back to Perth again!

Thanks to Andrew and the team for kick-starting the night in praises in songs, feels good to hear everyone singing, clapping in worship. Awesome effort from the team!

Guess what’s next, wait, make that guess who’s next.

Seeing everyone running around the room with yes/no questions, bumping into people and just trying to spam as many questions as they can to get clues (I even stalled someone and then stopped for a whole while just to think of a question x)

Later on, it was the ISSAC NEWTON game!

Well, it’s actually a slogan game between groups, but Jon’s group mainly snatched the spotlight throughout the game with the “OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO”, apple-on-the-head I presume, and much jumping to the song from spongebob. Although they didn’t win the game, but I’m sure they were definitely winners of the night!

Later on, t’was the say-your-group name game! Fast-paced rhythms, many names, red painful hands and many smiles and names known after that : D

Then came the best part of the night, the real deal on what IMCYF is all about, how we don’t just come here to sing and play, but to learn the Word of God, encounter Him face-to-face, build up ourselves, and once again be sent out to be blessings to many out there. Pastor also reaffirmed the gospel with many of us and gave an introduction to others that didn’t understand. Pilgrim's Progress - Journey to Heaven

Today's youth was watching "Pilgrim's progress : Journey to Heaven", awesome movie, link can be found by clicking on the title (:

The movie follows a man named Christian who has a big burden in his walk to not only gain salvation but ultimately to reach the "Celestial City". Directed by a man named Evangelist, Christian left on his journey, meeting many helpful friends and obstacles in the way. Throughout the journey, Christian must use his judgement to follow the narrow path and try his best not to stray when thrown off by tricksters from his journey. Although side tracked a few times, Christian eventually made it to the Celestial City.

Based on a book by John Bunyen in 1678, this movie is a great movie to show us how real our journey to heaven is, with so many obstacles, attitudes, obstacles, challenges, hardship, but not to mention guidance, peace and help from the Lord, along with needed courage, wisdom, prayer and obedience from the main character. Hopefully everyone found out where they are in the progress to heaven and keep the movie in mind always.

Welcome back everyone :D *well, almost everyone*

It was great to see many new and old back in IMCYF. Picking up from about 3 months ago, IMCYF is finally back :P Many from overseas, many here for year 12, new faces, new hairstyles, and definitely big smiles!

After singspiration and introduction of the new -comers, ‘have-i-ever’ told you that we played ‘never-have-i-ever’, with cool surprising facts shared between everyone!

Later on was bible study, linked with Chinese New Year and Valentine’s day, regarding the unselfish love that our Father has provided us since 2000 years ago when He died on the cross, how has it been going about in our lives, and how and who can we show this unselfish love towards.

Nothing wraps a good youth gathering like pizza (: Kudos to Tim for bring them, thus ending the night with heaps of fellowship, pizza, and smiles.

Everyone was all cordially invited to the 13th Anniversary of Immanuel Methodist Youth Fellowship (IMYF).

The youth was treated to a night of Singspiration, Icebreaker, Sketch and most important of all, FOOD.

Andrew the handsome and his awesome crew (hopefully I don't miss anyone out) of Simon, Ben, Brenda, Kim, Esther, Sta, Mel and Ivan brought us a sketch, encompassing Hebrews 10:25.

25Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

A slideshow was also shown to highlight all the activities that was held over the 2008 period, bringing back memories of the tears, joys, smiles and experiences from 2008. Like Esther said, IMYF is not all about bible studies and scripture; we have fun as well.

How was movie night boys and girls? I'm sure there was plenty to be learnt from the movie, such as to trust in The Lord with all your heart and lean not on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5) or when we cannot defend ourselves, God will do it for us. How good is our God? We just have to have faith that God intends for us to receive the best from Him. We have to be steadfast in living our lives righteously and pleasing to Him. And when everything looks bleak, persevere cause God will not forsake you but instead draw you closer in your time of need. Amen.

I hope you all enjoyed the movie and we hope to bring you more quality video such as this.

Shining as Stars

¹²Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, ¹³for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

¹⁴Do everything without complaining or arguing, ¹⁵so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe ¹⁶as you hold out the word of life—in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing. ¹⁷But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you. ¹⁸So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.

Summary

v 12-13

Paul encourages the Philippian Christians to continue in ther obedience to God, not only in his presences, but especially in his absence as he will not be there to remind them about what is right and what is wrong.
As such, we too must be careful about what we believe in and how we live, especially when we are on our own. We have to develop our own spiritual habits like prayer, daily devotion, care and love, to strive to be Christlike even without leaders to supervise us.
We also have be confident and assured that God will not leave us alone in out struggles to do His will. On the contrary, He is there to support us, carry us, ever ready to help us in time of need. Submit to God and let Him work. The strength to do what is right with God does not come from leaders or from outselves but from God and His word. (Refer Eph 6:6)

Complaining constantly and arguing is harmful to a society (Church, youth group, friends etc). From a newcomer's view, if all they see is a Church where her members constantly argue, complain or gossip, this will invoke a false impression of Christ and the gospel. Unity is not synonymous with complaining and arguing. Unity cannot exist when the church or group is always complaining or arguing.
To shine like stars - Our lives should be characterized by moral purity, patience and peace, so that we will "shine like stars". We are specially called to be witness to God, to be God's ambassadors and as such we cannot live like everyone else. We have to live by God's standards.

v 16-17

We are to stand firm in the word. Let nothing sway you from the rewards that is in heaven.
Serve with a joyful heart and serve out of love for God, for Jesus, the one who sacrificed himself on the cross for us.

8th May 2009 - Epic Quiz Night by the Disciple 1.

Once again, quiz night is over. The disciples 1 batch really outdone themselves today, challenging us with test of skills involving memory, singing and knowledge.

Who knew McDonald's introduced the Big Mac in 1968 or the first sightings of an UFO was in 100BC (Refer Ezekiel 1:4-9). Overall, I'm sure we learnt lots tonight, some perhaps a refresher, others perhaps new, but one thing's for sure, the disciples has really put in a lot of effort and time into the night and for that, we are thankful.

They even managed to slip in a sketch to keep us entertained while at the same time promoting disciple classes. Delilah even made an appearance on the night. I assume it was her anyway.

Eventually, the combination of Esther and Jono reigned supreme as their group snatched 1st place. They are unbeaten, if i'm not mistaken, for the 3rd year running.

Friday 20 March - Andrew's EPIC Movie Night
Plenty to think and learn from but perhaps might relate a tad more to the older youths who may or may not be in a relationship. It teaches us that relationships are not just not about two people liking each other and deciding to get into one, but instead, the maintaining of that relationship. Getting into one is easy, it's the maintaining part that defines the relationship and as a couple, it is the duty of each respective party to play their part in supporting their other half.

Making an appearance in the movie is The Love Dare, a 40-day Christian devotional book designed to strengthen marriages and to reinforce God's intention for marriage. - A night where we were given the chance to explore our life and our commitment to God. Are we serving for the right reasons? Are we serving with joy? Serving for the right reasons should equate joy. That itself is reward enough. Here, we were challenged to come back to the very foundation of our relationship with God and ask ourselves whether what we are doing, is it all for him. Are our actions glorifying to God?

Friday 10 April - Taming the Tiger
- Speaker Tony Anthony gave an account of his growing up from a young boy plucked from his parents to live with his grandfather, a kungfu master to his rise as martial arts champion, his success and achievement and unfortunate fall from grace. But God used that to touch him and bring him to His side. Today, he has laid aside his martial arts and taken up God's challenge to be a evangelist. On this night, he shared his life story of redemption augmented with attention-grabbing visual aid and an awesome voice-over. He especially mentioned, of how God send someone to talk to him, to share God's word with him and how it took 3 years before his heart soften and he started to listen. An encouragement for those who's tried to share God's word but have yet to see any fruits. Tony Anthony's message was simple, "Are you saved? If you were to die today, will it be heaven or hell that you will go?".

Imitating Christ's Humility

¹If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, ²then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. ³Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. ⁴Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

⁵Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:

⁶Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,

⁷but made himself nothing,

Summary

V. 1-2

- Unity in Christ, to be like-minded. Think of it as being a family in Christ, with the same desire, which is to know God more and to share his love for us with others.

V. 3-5
-Unity is not achievable if in all we do, we do for our own interests. But the essence of being a christian is to serve others.
-Romans 12:10 says "Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another about yourselves."
-V.5 challenges us to emulat Christ's attitude of self-sacrificing humility and love for others. What greater sacrifice is there when compared to how Jesus died on the cross for the forgiveness of sins and eternal life.

V.6-8
-Jesus was there at the very beginning with God. V.6 refers to the Trinity of the Father, Son and holy spirit. And as such, there is status and privileges that inevitably follow. However, Jesus set aside his glory and submitted to being born as man. John 17:5 says "And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began."
-Jesus humbled himself and was obedient to God's will, sacrificing himself on the cross for us all. Crucifixion was the most degrading kind of execution that could be inflicted on a person at that time.

V.9-11
-For his obedience to God, Jesus was exalted. As such, people everywhere worship and serve Jesus as Lord. Ultimately a day will come where all will acknowledge him as Lord, whether willingly or not.
-For us, though we are not to expect it, God will reward us with heavenly riches for our humbleness and obedience to Him.

I don't want to brag, but I'm pretty awesome at applying band-aids. And make no mistake, there is an art. Because if you go too quickly and unpeel them the wrong way, they stick to themselves and you end up with a wadded up useless mess instead of the Little Mermaid festooned bandage your daughter so desperately wants to apply to a boo boo that may in fact be 100% fictional.

Half of the injuries I treat at the Acuff house are invisible or simply wounds of sympathy. My oldest daughter will scrape her knee and my 3-year old, realizing the band aid box is open will say, "Yo dad, I'd like to get in on that too. What do you say we put one on, I don't know, my ankle. Yeah, my ankle, let's pretend that's hurt."

But sometimes the cuts are real, like the day my 5-year old got a scrape on her face playing in the front yard. I rushed in the house and returned with a princess bandage. As I bent down to apply it to her forehead, her eyes filled up with tears and she shrunk back from me.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"I don't want to wear that band-aid." She replied.

"Why? You have a cut, you need a band-aid." I said.

"I'll look silly." She answered.

Other than her sister and her mom, there was no one else in the yard. None of her friends were over, cars were not streaming passed our house and watching us play, the world was pretty empty at that moment. But for the first time I can remember, she felt shame. She had discovered shame. Somewhere, some how, this little 5 year old had learned to be afraid of looking silly. If I was smarter, if I had been better prepared for the transition from little toddler to little girl, I might have asked her this:

"Who told you that you were silly?"

I didn't though. That question didn't bloom in my head until much later and I didn't understand it until I saw God ask a similar question in Genesis 3:11. To me, this is one of the saddest and most profoundly beautiful verses in the entire Bible. Adam and Eve have fallen. The apple is a core. The snake has spoken. The dream appears crushed. As they hide from God under clothes they've hastily sewn together, He appears and asks them a simple question:

"Who told you that you were naked?"

There is hurt in God's voice as He asks this question, but there is also a deep sadness, the sense of a father holding a daughter that has for the first time ever, wrapped herself in shame.

Who told you that you were not enough?

Who told you that I didn't love you?

Who told you that there was something outside of me you needed?

Who told you that you were ugly?

Who told you that your dream was foolish?

Who told you that you would never have a child?

Who told you that you would never be a father?

Who told you that you weren't a good mother?

Who told you that without a job you aren't worth anything?

Who told you that you'll never know love again?

Who told you that this was all there is?

Who told you that you were naked?

I don't know when you discovered shame. I don’t know when you discovered that there were
people that might think you are silly or dumb or not a good writer or a husband or a friend. I don't know what lies you've been told by other people or maybe even by yourself.

But in response to what you are hearing from everyone else, God is still asking the question, "Who told you that you were naked?"

And He's still asking us that question because we are not.

In Christ we are not worthless.

In Christ we are not hopeless.

In Christ we are not dumb or ugly or forgotten.

In Christ we are not naked.

Isaiah 61:10 it says:
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness.

The world may try to tell you a thousand different things today. You might close this post and hear a million declarations of what you are or who you'll always be, but know this.

As unbelievable as it sounds and as much as I never expected to type this sentence on this blog:

You are not naked.

To all,

I must first and foremost apologise for putting the wrong venue up on Google StreetView.

Sorry, but we all know how 'convincing' Esther can be. It was on the other side.

Nevertheless, we had epic funs.

The games were great, the company even better.

Our gamesmaster, Esther (with the help of a certain Ah John), yelled at everyone for a couple of hours after we kicked off with singspiration.

The games were truly inspirational, with demonstrations of speed...

strength...

determination...

teamwork...

commitment...

and lots of pain...

But it was all worth it. The food team did an excellent job with the BBQ-ing of our lunch, and it was an awesome day of fun and fellowship for all of us.

13th February 2009 - The night before Valentines

We at IMC are a diverse lot. We have boys, and we have girls. So it follows that we would have talks about both boys, and girls, and their relationships with each other. Friday the 13th (of February) was one such night.

So we kicked off the night with singspiration and a very entertaining icebreaker that led into the theme for the night. It was boys vs. girls, and okay, fine, the boys won. Ching You's fantastic knowledge of songs with the word "love" in them was beaten down by the combined efforts of Tan, Jono and Sean.

"Love is in the air..."

"If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get rid of my friends...."

We farewelled MelTan (we'll all miss you) with a slideshow, and quite a few tears were shed during her speech full of wise words.

We then split up into boys and girls and had a few very learned and very experienced uncles and aunties give us advice on boy-girl relationships.

Some of the advice given to us included:

the importance of self-respect as well as respect for others,
dark, isolated places are a no-no,
learning to say no, and how to take no for an answer,
putting God first no matter what,
study is very important - sometimes, bf/gf stuff can wait,
Prince Charming belongs to Cinderella. He does not belong to you.

Okay, so they said a lot of very helpful things, and the awesome part is that both the uncles and aunties basically had the same few points (so it must be true).

There was a lot to learn, and it can't all be put here in this post (mainly because I can't remember it all) but... if you don't want to miss out on advice - whether it be on BGR or other unrelated topics - make sure you get yourself down to IMC for Friday night youth every week.

6th February 2009 - Games, Fellowship, and Pizza

It was a night of fun, fellowship and food. What could go wrong?

...except for Mr. Youth President bashing someone up with a rolled up newspaper. Apart from that, everyone played safe.

So we played a true/false game where it came down to a stand-off between sisters. In the end, it was Goh's "my English very noob" that became the decider.

The smack-someone-with-a-rolled-up-newspaper game was a great hit (har har pun not intended), and so was follow the leader, with Esther and Yu Jhyn coming up with some very creative actions to imitate.

The ZZZZZZZ-dadaradadaaaaa game was full of laughs, and who could forget the Ninjas, Chinamen, Indians and Cowboys game?
We ended the night with small group prayers and a lot of pizza. It was a night of awesome fun, fantastic fellowship and unhealthy food, so if you missed out this time, make sure you're there for the next.

Good work on Brothers' Night sisters! It was a great night with lots of effort put into it. The Cowboy Theme was really done well with the decorations. Very nice decorations, I like.

The little sketch following the music vid was quite interesting; some nice awards (Homer Simpson ftw!); a fairly easy quiz; and a nice song with four of our sisters doing a little dance while the rest just stood behind and sang.

Oh, can't forget the award for the best-dressed-according to the theme award with Jono trying to be 'sexy'.

Gonna be difficult for the brothers to top that on Sisters' Night.

How was camp guys?

Praise God.

Praise God for the dedication and commitment of the entire camp committee. I cannot begin to imagine what it must have been like for Ben Chan to organize so many things, all while starting a new job. And for the chinese youth who organised the games, Albert, Pak Kai, and so many others - seriously job well done. Rick, Cheng Loon, Jason and Sean for the awesome praise and worship sessions. The musicians. Aunties for cooking and everything else no one really noticed but couldn't do without. Reverend Elijah for the excellent 3 theme talks, going back for disciple class and still coming back to camp for the final morning of prayer. So many people to thank God for.

Praise God for everything we went through at camp, for the fun we had, and becoming better for it. Whether it was waking up early for the sunrise, STAYING up for the sunrise, burning oranges on the stove for fragrance, but it stank, getting confused with the blankets and ending up sleeping with just the top layer, getting fingers chewed by rabbits, almost tripping over the escapee pony in the dark, shuffling everywhere you go rendering you almost incapable of walking normally, the laughter, the tears, the inspirations.

Praise God.

During the very last few minutes in camp, we just finished packing up all the equipment and were ready to leave. Jo walked up to me, gave me a hug, waist high, and said, "Everything is so emotional. Why."

That got me thinking. I don't want to leave camp with just emotions. I don't want come away from camp feeling so fired up, ready to live and love for Christ, and having all that disappear within a matter of weeks. Because that is what happens if emotion is all you get from camp.

I want the tears, joy and laughter to still mean something 2 weeks, 2 months, 2 years down the track.

I know it will. I know this time, it is different. I know I am closer to God for it.

All things are possible through Christ. He paid for our sins, making the impossible (our salvation), possible.

Believe it, not for these 3 weeks only

But Live it

Give your all to Christ.

because He did the same for us.

Money Matters Review

How to manage our resources? How to make use of the money that God has given to us? Those were the questions that we were trying to answer on that night.

Ching You, Esther, and Yii Kuok gave testimonies on tithing and how God has blessed them as they gave more. Esther had an interesting point of view in giving 10 percent of what we have: if we have $1,000 dollars and we give $100, we have $900 left... isn't $900 still a lot of money?

We also discussed about the possession of material things as opposed to storing up eternal treasure in heaven. And Kim couldn't stop laughing about Home Brand. lol.

All in all, it was a wonderful program organised by Daniel and Yii Kuok. Thanks guys.

IMC Got Talent review

With everything ranging from music to caring, to transport, we want to thank God for truly blessing our church and each one of us with talents and gifts. Each and every one of us has a gift or talent we can serve God with. And at the end of the day, all we intend to do is to glorify the One above.

Areas of ministry:

Choir
Music - leading, instrumental, singing etc
Caring - everyone needs love
Sketch - very powerful ministry
Mission and outreach - from reaching out to friends, to going on mission trips

So everyone lets continue to pray for these areas of ministry.

Getting involved in ministry is a great blessing not only to others, the church but to ourselves.

Ahhh... a sunny day, cool winds blowing, what more could one ask for a day like this? A bbq of course! Yum. Lets not forget the (painful) games, and a brief overview of what the youth is about by Richard. Gotta thank the aunties for helping to do the bbq-ing while we had fun, especially Elisa's (from Kingsway Methodist Church) mom who just happened to be walking past on the way home.

What a night that was eh?

To recap: an overview of the direction the youth fellowship would be heading, along with the programs associated, given by Richard; a slideshow of what the year did last year which Richard hated because he wasn't in most of them; a sketch about running a race/marathon which dissed Jono quite a bit; a discussion about the sketch... I might have forgotten something else, but that's the gist of it. Oh yeah, there was some food at the end of it, so that was good.

Saturday 26 January 2008: Australia Day Celebration at South Perth Foreshore

Thank God for a good day of worship, fellowship and fun. We had a good spot which was shady and windy all day. Only a small drama at the end when the bus we were meant to take din show up, but we managed to sort it out without much hassle. Continue to pray for our adopted country, Australia, a land that has given us the opportunity to study, work and live here. Save Australia, Lord!

A big thank you to Pak Kai for coordinating, Joseph and Richard for the songs, Albert and Tim for the activities and everyone who helped prepare food and provide transport. Truly a day to thank God for.

Friday 25 January 2008: No Shame, Know Gain

"Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God..." (Romans 1:1)

In case you're wondering, Paul wrote the book of Romans. Thus, the above was how he introduced himself in his writings. A servant of Christ Jesus. An apostle. Set apart for the gospel of God. He had no shame about his relationship with Christ Jesus. His identity was in Christ Jesus.

How about ourselves? Do we identify ourselves with Christ? Are we ashamed of doing so? What difficulties do we face by standing up for Christ? These were some of the questions that were raised on the night. Thank you Cheng Loon for coordinating the night and facilitating the discussion we had.

As followers of Christ, may we have no shame such that we may know true gain.

Friday 18 January 2008: Ratatouille!

But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." (1 Samuel 16:7)

Yes, we can draw a Bible lesson even from a movie about a rat that can cook :P Many people doubted Remy's ability to cook because, well... Remy is a rat. But Remy had heart, and he proved to be an extraordinary cook.

Similarly, when it comes to doing God's work, it is not the outward appearance that counts... the Lord looks at the heart.

Thanks to Yu Jhyn for coordinating, and not following through with his initial idea of showing "Alien vs Predator" instead.

Friday 11 January 2008: Starting Where You Are

Our first program after the summer break! It was great to see everyone gathered together again.

We took the opportunity in this new year to reflect on where we were in our lives. Was there anything in our lives that was displeasing to God? The lesson was based on Jonah 1 and Jonah 2. As with Jonah in the belly of the fish, we reflected on our actions that were not in line with God's ways, and prayed for a turnaround. And no matter how far we may have strayed, by repenting and relying on God's strength and encouraging one another... we can find a way back to God. He is always waiting for us to come back to Him with open arms...

The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says:
"This is the covenant I will make with them
after that time, says the Lord.
I will put my laws in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds." Then he adds:
"Their sins and lawless acts
I will remember no more."

And where these have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin. Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:15-25)

Deeper in Love (2 November 2007)

Yeah, I know this happened ages ago. But we have the pictures in the sidebar on the right. So for the sake of completeness... a few sentences about the night that was "Deeper in Love".

Pastor Shirley led us through a good time of prayer, singing and reflection on the night. We prayed in particular for the Western District Methodist Churches short term mission trip to Thailand as well as for the Year 12 students.

P.S. Sadly, this would prove to be Pastor Shirley's last program with IMYF. In December she received news that she would be posted to Melbourne and would be taking up the role of Youth Director for the entire CMCA (Chinese Methodist Churches in Australia). Of course we miss her dearly, but we feel that she is simply perfect for the role. We pray that God will use her mightily and bless her ministry.

This year's youth convention was a blast! Fantastic location; great facilities (Stanwell Tops FTW); good organisation (well done to the Sydneysiders!); and above all, fabulous people from all around Australia!

The theme of the convention was 'No Shame, Know Gain' which basically means that we should not be ashamed of the gospel as Romans 1:16 says 'I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.' It isn't easy to stand up for Christ in this world, but it is something that we as Christians must do.

For those who missed this year's convention, try to make it for next year's at Adelaide. You won't regret it!

The theme of the night was 'We Must Go', taken from the song by Tim Hughes (lyrics below). It was a great night that was focused on outreach and missions.

Here are the highlights:

The people who went for the nursing home visit gave a short sharing about what they experienced and learnt from the visit.

Jeff shared about his trip to a youth conference in Brisbane.

Richard shared some interesting statistical facts of the world in a highly interactive way. This highly interactive way involved some degree of bum-grabbing and head-scratching.

Pastor Shirley gave a short message about reaching out to others.

Overall, it was a fun night, and hopefully it will encourage everyone to care more for others and to share the Gospel.

Basketball Tournament 20th October

20th October, Grace Methodist Church organised a friendly basketball tournament for our three churches, Kingsway being the other.

After a hectic week of recruitment, we ended up with a good variety of players ranging from tall girls such as Sam to short boys such as Jo, from young players such as Mel to ~~old~~ experienced players such as Rev. Kwang (woot!), from skillful players such as Tan to noobs such as Tim. With this conglomeration of players, we thought we had a winning combination.

On the day of the tournament, our team arrived pretty much punctual and after a bit of warming up, we were ready for our first game.

IMC vs Kingsway

The game started well for IMC with Tim scoring the first basket with a decent drive. This is not to be taken as an indication for his performance throughout, his form petering to nothing as the game progressed, amassing only a meagre 2 more points at the end of the game. He was quickly substituted. After exchanging a few more points, Kingsway gradually jumped into the lead. Slack defending and an overzealous determination to have fun were at fault. Nonetheless, the game was fun for both sides, and the game ended in and landslide victory for Kingsway.

IMC vs Grace

With the appearance of our star player Tan, our team went into this game confident and assured that we would emerge victorious. Sure enough, with Tan leading the attack from the rear, Sam and Mel scoring point after point, IMC headed off into an easy lead and seemed to be bound for a momentous victory. It was when all seemed perfect when Tim appeared again on court. It was then when IMC started to drop points and confidence. A hasty substitution at the end swapping Jo for Tim came all but too late. After putting up some stiff and courageous resistance, IMC slumped to a 7 point defeat to Grace.

So we (IMC) lost both our matches. However, if the amount of noise and support from our faithful entourage merited any points, we would have easily won both matches.

So…

Thanks to all the people who came and took part, be it cheering us on or sweating it out on court, IMC appreciates all your support. Congratulations on making that day a fun and lighthearted one, the way it should be. Congratulations also to Kingsway for being crowned the champions of this tournament.
